Thank you for the unetbootin recommendation. Much apreciated. :)
  2. [ubuntu] Re: Can't install ATI proprietary drivers in 12.10. Unity is Missing

Also worked for me. I'm not sure which part worked for me. I already had the latest headers installed so it was either "linux-source" or the "fglrx-updates" as previously i'd always tried the simpler...

[ubuntu] Re: Unity bars missing after 12.10 upgrade

I'm thinking it can't be as common as you'd think as i can't find much about this.

Yeah anyway, this is really just a me too post. ATI 5870 on a clean 12.10 install.

    Additionaly the reason I...

  7. [SOLVED] Re: Having Trouble Getting FGLRX And Catalyst Control Center Working Properly In 11.1

    Ah me too -

I hadn't been sure that this was related to the fix i related though. Hmm. It would be good to fix that too.

I use a little timed shutdown app on occasion that still works so I...
  8. [SOLVED] Re: Having Trouble Getting FGLRX And Catalyst Control Center Working Properly In 11.1

I couldn't sleep, So i messed around doing some other stuff then had another bash. Seems to have fixed it. Now I'm not clever and can't be sure that my problems are the same as others but for what...
  9. [SOLVED] Re: Having Trouble Getting FGLRX And Catalyst Control Center Working Properly In 11.1

Same problems with dual monitor ati and what seems like a broken catalyst control center here.

Giving up for the night. Tried so many different things I think I'll just start with another fresh...

[ubuntu] Re: 10.10 runs slow and jerky

    Just a me too post.

Fresh install of 10.10 using the propriety ATI drivers. Not sure they are the cause but as people here are talking about graphics drivers a lot thought I'd mention.

    I don't...

    Re: Spoitify display issue

I found a solution that seems to work for me at the spotify boards. Set wine to run as win xp in winecfg. Rather than win 98 as it was set for me.

[ubuntu] Re: 10.04 LTS RC: Blank Screen at startup

Just to confirm what jaycee said about newer ATI cards.

Using an ATI 5870 and two monitors had the same problem.

After trying with just one monitor in a specific dvi port the live cd booted...
  14. [ubuntu] Re: Jaunty fast then slow out of sync video with stuttering sound

Yeah I updated to the proposed kernel a couple of days back and it does seem to have improved performance a good deal. I hadn't posted back here about it because I was still trying to gauge that....
  15. [ubuntu] Re: Jaunty fast then slow out of sync video with stuttering sound

  16. [ubuntu] Re: Jaunty fast then slow out of sync video with stuttering sound

Cheers for the advice. :) I'd already tried that though and still 100% cpu. :( Sounds works allways did. Just hammers the cpu.
