    Well the images were taken from ********...which I'm pretty sure doesn't keep too many bad files around. I could be wrong though.

    I have a LiveCD and have been using it off and on and it works just fine.

    And to the other poster that said the images are probably corrupt. I really really doubt that 5 completely different...

    That's the one I've been using and cd's have been failing to record properly...redownloaded the file a few times to make sure it wasn't a bad file and still does the same thing. 8x is the slowest it...

    Well I didn't come in here looking for how to recover the windows loader....I just said that if I happen to recover it, I will just use it instead of grub. I posted my menu.lst and fdisk info hoping...

    I used sudo lilo -M /dev/sda mbr last night and it completely wiped out grub and didn't give me my windows MBR back which made me have to reinstall Ubuntu again

    Ok so the recovery disc doesn't work.......just leaves me at a blank screen after everything loads.

    I tried a few other things and this is the result....not sure if it might even help at all...

    If I can get Windows to overwrite the MBR and be able to boot into Windows that will be fine too...I don't absolutely need to use grub...I can always use the Windows loader and save myself headaches....

    I now have Karmic installed and it even made a new grub menu file and did not list any Windows OS at all. When I boot into Karmic it doesn't even have any other drives mounted on the desktop like it...
